I NEVER HEARD OF THIS:
The Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation study’s the Salmon population in Alaska and they do it by setting up UpRight Aluminum Scaffold on the river bank. The UpRight Aluminum Scaffold has a platform height of 18’. This puts the observers head around 24’. They can comfortably climb the UpRight Aluminum Scaffold, count the Salmon and then come back down the UpRight Aluminum Scaffold and take the boat across the river and climb another UpRight Aluminum Scaffold on the other side. They then count the fish for 10 minutes on one side of the river then move to the other side of the river and do the same thing. They count the Salmon 24 hours a day every day until the Salmon Season is over.
